Bako National Park
A National Park since 1957, Bako offers the perfect introduction to Sarawak’s forests and wildlife. The park covers the northern tip of the Muara Tebas peninsula, an area of 27 sq km. Despite its seemingly small size, Bako contains a wide range of vegetation - swamp forest, scrub-like padang vegetation, mangrove forest, dipterocarp forest, delicate cliff vegetation and more. In fact, at Bako it is possible to see almost every type of vegetation found in Borneo. Bako also contains a rich variety of wildlife and a coastline covered with small bays, coves and beaches.

Petra Jaya bus No.6 (RM2) and regular go to Kampung Bako, a picturesque fishing village. Taxi fare is RM 35 one-way. From there you have to charter a boat to the Park HQ from the booth at the jetty. The one-way fare is RM 40 per boat (up to 5 people). The boat ride is an adventure in itself, with the skilled and experienced boatmen riding the surf at high speed, to the delight of most visitors. Please be prepared to be patient to wait the bus if you are going there by bus because the driver will wait until full of passenggers.
When the time I reached Kampung Bako, coincidently I met the locals are busying to catch the crocodile which was suspected had eat a kid in the kampung. They found an underwear inside the crocodile stomach which I knew it from the newspaper on the following day.
鳄鱼: 冤枉啊大人!我只是一时好奇,试一试内裤的味道,我可没吃人哪! 可别把我给劏了...
Wait at the jetty for more passenggers...
* do not forget to inform your boatman when to pick you out ya
Remember to register at the HQ (pay for the entrance fee and accomodation fee that must book in advance) and get the map, not only to get the map but pls read it well and plan it well for the trek and trails... lastly... pls enjoy the rainforest and the wildlife....

The way to Teluk Pandan Kecil (one of Bako's most popular trails), which ascends the forested hills overlooking Telok Assam.
Hey, actually I found that all the treks and trails in Bako NP are well maintain and not bad if compare to other famous trails in oversea.... :)
The views of the secluded bay below and the famous sea stack just offshore (Teluk Pandan Kecil)
Teluk Pandan Besar
Amazing... Teluk Asam
Passes at first through swamp forest and a flat section follow by steeply climbs and at times you must hang on to tree roots to keep your balance. At the top you are rewarded with breathtaking views of Bako’s coastline.

Teluk Paku
Bako contains an incredible variety of plant species and vegetation types, and this is one of the park’s great attractions.
The best times for seeing wildlife at Bako are just after dawn and just before dusk, when the animals are at their most active. You are more likely to see animals on the trails if you go in small groups, walk slowly, keep as quiet as possible, and listen out for sounds and movements in the forest.

On the way to chase for the proboscis monkeys. We saw them but I was unable to capture their photo due to their fast action and I don't have those good camera lens to focus. So please be smart to bring your good acessories like binoculars before come here if you are here for wildlife...
The 2nd day, I continue with other trails that not finish by the first day. Actually we should spend more times in Bako NP to enjoy the amazing natural view. Some more the hostel fee is quite cheap. But just be perpare that the hostel may not as clean as you expected and you will attacked by mosquitors nearby. Pls be prepare those insect repellant or whatever to protect yourself ya...
The best times for viewing the proboscis are early in the morning or in the hours before dusk. I missed the opportunity for the first day. So wake up early in the next morning to look for the last chance. Luckily I found them :P
Proboscis Monkey
长鼻猴: 这些外国游客跟我的长相好相似, 长长的鼻子,红红的屁股, 大大的眼睛, 为什么还那么渴望想看我呢?
Wild Pig also can be found there. What a scare when I came out from my shower. They are just outside the shower room and without much time to think I quickly go and get my camera to shoot them. Hahaha....
