Lake Tekapo - from the Maori words Taka (sleeping mat) and Po (night). You can see the "sleeping mat" in quiet all the time from the top of the hill.

A memorial to the pioneers of the Mackenzie, the Church of the Good Shepherd, lies on the shore of Lake Tekapo on Pioneer Drive with the surroundings left in their natural state covered with matagouri, tussock and rock. Amazing right?
在库克山东侧不远的地方，有两个宁静而美丽的湖泊，一个叫做普卡基湖，另一个叫做泰卡普湖 。两个湖的背景都是库克山以及周围的群峰，湖水源于冰川，水色碧蓝中含带着乳白，晶莹如玉，平洁如镜。在普卡基湖边，坐落着一个小小的教堂，还有一只牧羊狗的雕塑，他们都静静地守候在湖畔，记载着这里的故事。蓝天、白云、雪山、碧湖、绿色相间的原野和山林，五彩缤纷的花朵，没有人烟，只有大自然的风声掠过人们的耳际。
