Oamaru

Oamaru, is famous for its historical white stone architecture and Blue Penguin Colony.

Moeraki Boulders

The Moeraki Boulders consist mainly of carbonate of lime, silica, alumina and peroxide of iron. Formed around a central core of lime crystals which appear to have the power of attracting and consolidating the above ingredients from the adjacent soil. The shape of the boulders is not due to the action of the sea.

The boulders are 60 million years old. And, the boulders are getting lesser nowaday.

The paved road heads off left to a car park near the Moeraki Boulder visitor center, which charges a fee to descend the steps to the beach and boulders. Instead, continue straight down the Moeraki Boulder Road (now a gravel track) to the car park at the end and walk along the beach to the boulders for free. This is a longer walk, but it is worth to walk if you want to save your money...

I was waiting for the sunrise there... good post? hehe =P

Trying hard to roll the boulder...

The photo is taken during my waiting time for Blue Penguin Colony watching. At the same time actually I was cooking my instant noodle just beside the road. What I meant is I was actually enjoying my dinner - instant noodle (I still remember tomyam mihun with egg and lettuce) in an amazing scene.

A cute sign to aware driver to slow down for penguins crossing but the penguins are only appear during nest time in the late evening

Visitors are allow to hide in the shelter for wild penguin watching in the nest time.

Its Famous because its GOOD! A good slogan to make up my mind to capture it into my memory...

The town view which is nearby the i-center in Oamaru. There are so many old shops and train station nearby too.
